TWIN ABS POUCHER TYPICAL
QUOTE
Thank you for your
interest in our Pouch Handling equipment, and how we can assist with
your automation and cost containment efforts.
The Twin ABS Poucher can handle 12" wide pouches or multiples
thereof. It was created specifically to process larger pouches, bags
and products. Each system can handle one or two of your pouches per
vacuum plate and machine index. Index cycle time is 2 seconds, plus
fill and seal.
The Twin ABS Poucher incorporates the pouch feeding technology
employed by the Pouchmaster and sealing technology of the ABS
(Automatic Bar Sealing) System, but with a Linear filled pouch transport
system.
The Twin ABS Poucher System operation is as follows:
1. A 24" deep stack of pouches are placed in the pouch magazine feed
system.
2. The vacuum plate picks one or two pouches from the magazine.
3. The pouches are placed into a custom transport carriage. They are
opened via vacuum cups, and Pinch 'N Pull fingers grip the side seals
of each pouch and control the pouch during the entire cycle.
4. Vacuum and position sensors sense that each pouch is opened, to assure
No-Pouch-No Fill-Logic. A signal is sent to the automatic fill system.
When the fill cycle is complete, a signal is sent back to the Poucher
to continue the cycle. If an automatic filler is not used; the product
is manually inserted into each opened, gripped pouch. The cycle is controlled
by a foot pedal or load cycle timer. Weigh cells can be integrated into
the system.
5. The grippers pull the top of each pouch closed as it is transported
to the sealer, for coding as well as sealing.
6. If CAP or MAP packaging is required, each pouch remains open as it
is transported to the bar sealer. When in position, a diving snorkel
enters the bag. The grippers pull, to close the pouch. A preclosure
mechanism encapsulates the snorkel, and the vacuum and/or purge cycle
is initiated. Upon completion, the snorkel retracts and the Bar Sealer
closes and seals the pouches. The filled pouches are ejected and the
cycle continues.
As the carriage moves toward the bar sealer, the twin cycle begins.
An additional gripper assembly is moving toward the pouch magazine feed
and product fill station.
7. When the first pouches are in position, the ABS system seals and
codes each pouch; while the second set of pouches are being loaded into
the gripper assembly and product inserted.
8. The sealed pouches are ejected from the ABS and guided to a collection
tub or conveyor for inspection and pack-off.
9. The cycle is repeated automatically. Gripper number one is proceeding
to the product loading station, and gripper number two is moving toward
the bar sealer.
Quick pouch-size changeovers are accomplished by utilizing custom
designed vacuum plates and cups. The cups are interchanged with predetermined,
color coded barb locations on the vacuum plate. This design allows for
the processing of a multitude of pouch/bag widths and lengths.
The magazine can hold 24 inches of pouches/bags. The pouch magazine
feed system side rails are adjustable to accommodate various pouch widths.
The Twin ABS Poucher Automatic Bar Seal(ABS) System incorporates
pick and place technology and state of the art bar heat sealing methodology.
The system satisfies FDA Process Validation guidelines. The sealer
utilizes a PID digital temperature controller. The dwell is controlled
by a digital timer with 0.01 second increments. The seal pressure is
controlled by an air cylinder regulator and gauge system. This unit
is mechanically attached to the ABS Poucher and is controlled
by a PLC, via umbilical cord.
Should any of the critical menu driven parameters (temp, press, dwell)
exceed the preset limit checks, the System will stop processing and
an Audio/Visual alarm will alert the operator. The pouches will
remain in place until removed. After correction, the reset button is
initiated and the cycle automatically continues. These functions are
part of our TOTAL QUALITY CONTROL software-hardware package.
While the product is being inserted into the pouch, the ABS System
will be performing its function. Thus, no processing time is sacrificed.
A pouch collection system can be integrated to keep the pouches properly
oriented for inclusion into your kits.
